Easter activities at home for all the family!

Here are some egg-cellent activities for all the family to enjoy at home this Easter.

From baking to making Easter crafts to the all important easter egg hunt, why not plan the perfect Easter in your new home with activities for all the family to enjoy together? We’ve been on the hunt for the very best decorations and eggstravagent activity suggestions to help you out and here are some of our favourites…

1. DIY Easter Bunny Decorations

Stand your napkin bunny upright. You may need to adjust the bottom to form a base. Fluff the bunny ears and position the napkin on your plate. Decorating your home doesn’t have to be for just Christmas or Halloween; Easter arrangements have risen in popularity!

Easter displays look pretty placed as a centre piece on your coffee table or dining table, creating a springtime setting that everyone can enjoy. Decorate with florals, foliage, and pastel eggs for a classy look. Or if you want to go all out, go for a vibrant colour pallette, yellow Easter chicks and rabbit ornaments.

When dressing your table for Easter, why not try making Easter bunny napkins to delight the kids? Follow these simple steps by blogger Kori Ellis:

Fold the napkin in half and then in half again, forming a long rectangle. Fold the right and left sides down to meet in the centre, forming a point at the top Fold the bottom corners up, meeting at the centre Fold in the side corners so that they meet in a point. Your napkin should now be in a kite-like shape Gently turn the napkin over and fold the top point downward, then turn the napkin back over Roll the right side of the napkin over, a bit past the centre point. Fold the left side over and tuck it into the pocket on the right side

2. Easter Wreaths

It’s the time of the year where longer (and hopefully brighter) days are now becoming the norm, the sun is shining and flowers are starting to spring. Easter naturally brings positivity and joy. Make the most of the seasonal delight every time you arrive home by adding an Easter wreath to your front door! Whether you make one yourself or choose a shop-bought option, wreaths, like decorations, don’t have to be reserved for Christmas.

3. Easter treats

Who doesn't love a sweet treat? Especially at Easter! Something you won’t regret making is these indulgent Easter Nests by Janes Patisserie… topped with your favourite choice of chocolate. With Easter a time for treats galore, this easy to make receipe will be popular with the whole family.

To make three Nests all you will need is:

  • 200 g dark chocolate (finely chopped)
  • 100 g unsalted butter
  • 100 g golden syrup

Then, simply head over to the Janes Patisserie blog for the full recipe and instructions.

4. Easter Egg hunt

The all-important Easter egg hunt is a great way to kick-off Easter morning, just pop on your Easter bonnet, grab a basket and get hunting!

Easter egg hunts can be done inside or outside, and can be adapted to any age. To make the hunt more difficult for teens or even adults, make clues or a quiz and hide the eggs in difficult places which must be solved like a treasure hunt. For younger children, hide the eggs in easy to find places, making them slightly visible, or even create bunny footprints from card or using flour to lend a helping hand. You can’t go wrong with a good old fashioned Easter egg hunt.

We hope our creative ideas help you get into the Easter spirit.
