Gleeson approved to build new homes for local people in Annfield Plain
Gleeson has been given permission to build 86 new homes on West Road in Annfield Plain, County Durham
The vacant piece of land will soon become a mixture of stunning 2, 3 and 4 bedroom semi and detached homes, anticipated to start from just £95,995.
The housebuilder has agreed to make a significant contribution towards local open space provision and is also looking for reliable, reputable labour and sub-contractors to work on these exciting new homes, including applications from local young people who are interested in the Gleeson Apprenticeship Scheme.
Ed Alder, Operations Director for Gleeson said:
We’re delighted that we have been given the go ahead to develop the site. I think local people will be pleased to hear that our new homes are extremely affordable. The Government backed Help to Buy scheme will ensure that many of these homes will be cheaper to buy than local Council rent levels.
Gleeson has been voted the most sustainable company in the UK, due to the housebuilder’s environmentally friendly material choices and practices such as gravel on driveways, commitment to Living Wage and their Community Matters Programme. This includes inviting junior sports teams to apply for sponsorship, Design a Bedroom competitions at nearby schools and other initiatives in the local community such as the YourWatch scheme, Gleeson’s own online alternative to Neighbourhood Watch.
