Gleeson’s charity golf day raises £6,200 for Zarach
Gleeson Homes, the leading high-quality affordable housebuilder, raised over £6,200 for Zarach, The Children’s Bed Charity, through its second annual regional charity golf day.
Held at the Wynyard Golf Club in Stockton-on-Tees on 16th September, the event brought together suppliers, contractors and employees from Gleeson Homes' North East regional business in support of the charity's mission to end child bed poverty.
Founded in 2018 by a primary school teacher, Zarach works to ensure every child has a safe and comfortable place to sleep, providing bed bundles to families experiencing financial hardship. By addressing bed poverty, the charity helps children get the rest they need to thrive both at home and in the classroom.
Funds were raised through a range of activities, including a charity raffle, alongside generous donations from attendees. The event raised approximately £6,240, up more than 36% on the £4,550 raised at last year's inaugural golf day.
It was great to be a part of the Gleeson North East Region golf day. Amazing support for Zarach was shown on the day across the Gleeson team and the invited businesses, contractors and suppliers they work with! An incredible amount was raised, equating to the cost of 42 bed bundles for children living in bed poverty. That's 42 mattresses, bed frames, bedding sets and pairs of pyjamas - a massive thank you from the Zarach team.
We are delighted to have raised over £6,200 for Zarach, building on the £4,550 raised last year. This achievement would not have been possible without the generosity and support of our valued suppliers, contractors and employees, who came together to make a real difference. The funds raised reflect the shared commitment to changing lives and creating positive opportunities for children and families in our communities.
