Gleeson continues support for Langley Park & Bearpark Cricket Club
Gleeson Homes has strengthened its support for Langley Park and Bearpark Cricket Club with a new kit sponsorship, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to the communities in which it builds.
The sponsorship builds on Gleeson’s previous contribution to the club, which included the installation of protective fencing to safeguard the cricket field during the winter months. Together, these initiatives are helping to protect and enhance the club’s facilities, ensuring it can continue to provide opportunities for local players of all ages.
Located close to Gleeson’s popular development in Bearpark named The Woodlands, the cricket club plays a vital role at the heart of the local community. It is home to three senior teams and a growing junior section, with teams ranging from Under 9s through to Under 15s.
Run entirely by dedicated volunteers, Langley Park and Bearpark Cricket Club offers an inclusive and welcoming environment for players and families of all abilities. With grassroots cricket participation continuing to grow, the club remains open to new members from across the local area.
Gleeson is currently building a range of high-quality homes at The Woodlands, located less than three miles from Durham city centre. Following planning approval, a second phase of the development will deliver a further 48 much-needed homes, helping to meet local housing demand in Bearpark with homes that offer exceptional value at a genuinely affordable price.
As part of the new phase, Gleeson will also contribute more than £189,000 through Section 106 funding to support essential local infrastructure. This includes investment in SEND provision, healthcare services, public open spaces and improvements to the local rights of way network, helping to enhance community wellbeing across Bearpark and Durham
