Gleeson Homes’ Charity Gala raises £41,304 for Centrepoint
Gleeson Homes, the affordable high-quality housebuilder, is pleased to announce that its first ever Charity Gala has raised £41,304 in aid of its chosen charity of the year, Centrepoint.
Centrepoint is a leading UK youth homelessness charity, providing young people with essential support including accommodation, healthcare, and teaching life skills to help them get back into education, training, and employment.
In 2021, Gleeson Homes welcomed a cohort of Land Graduates and, following the completion of their two-year training programme, the graduates formed a committee to organise the inaugural Charity Gala in aid of Centrepoint.
The sold-out black tie event, hosted at the Queens Hotel in Leeds City Centre, was thoroughly enjoyed by over 400 guests, including suppliers, sub-contractors, agents, solicitors, colleagues, and many more key contacts. The event was a tremendous success, raising a total of £41,304 through donations and other fundraising efforts in the run-up to the event, including a 10K charity run by one of the committee members.
This forms a key part of Gleeson’s Community Matters programme, which sees the Company support and invest in the areas where it operates, representing the Group’s commitment to local community development.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Gleeson Homes for hosting such a wonderful event and for choosing to fundraise for Centrepoint. With the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, we expect the number of young people facing homelessness to continue to rise but, with partners such as Gleeson Homes, we believe that together we can help to end youth homelessness.”
“Gleeson Homes’ Vision, Mission and Values are completely aligned to those of Centrepoint’s, creating a seamless partnership. We were blown away by the generosity of all those involved in making our first ever charity gala such a huge success. I am immensely proud of what the Land Graduate cohort have achieved, they have created a strong blueprint for future fundraising activity.”
