Golden Brick marks the start of 20 Affordable Homes in Nottinghamshire
Gleeson Homes, a leading developer of high-quality, affordable homes, has partnered with housing provider Jigsaw Homes Group to deliver 20 much‑needed affordable properties at Hollinwell Heath, a new community taking shape in Kirkby‑in‑Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.
The partnership has reached its first major milestone with the laying of the initial ‘golden brick’, marking the official start of construction on the affordable units and reinforcing both organisations’ shared commitment to increasing access to quality housing in the region.
The homes form part of the wider Hollinwell Heath scheme, which will provide 196 energy‑efficient, highly affordable homes across 16.2 acres of former agricultural land. As part of the agreement with Jigsaw, 15 homes will be delivered for affordable rent and five for Shared Ownership, offering more accessible routes to homeownership.
All 20 homes will be two‑bedroom semi‑detached properties, plotted throughout the development and thoughtfully designed to offer spacious, modern living.
Across the wider development, Gleeson will deliver a mix of two-, three-, and four‑bedroom homes, all featuring air-source heat pumps as standard, underlining the company’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and low‑carbon living.
Hollinwell Heath benefits from excellent connectivity, located just three miles from the M1 J27 and four miles from J28. Regular trains from Kirkby‑in‑Ashfield to Nottingham provide easy access to major rail networks, connecting residents to London, Sheffield, and Birmingham.
