Gleeson to build 160 new homes in Northumberland

Gleeson Homes has recently launched Grangemoor Park, a new development in Northumberland, bringing 160 affordable, quality homes to the area.

The first phase of homes for sale at in Widdrington were released just before the Christmas break, proving extremely desirable with local people, with several homes having been sold in the first two weeks of launch.

With prices from £118,995 for a three-bedroom home, Grangemoor Park is ideal for first-time buyers and young families. The Government backed Help to Buy: Equity Loan scheme, which is available on the development will ensure that many of the homes cost less than local rent levels. Further homes will be released for sale throughout 2021, with the first homeowners expected to move into this Spring.

Throughout the duration of the build, Gleeson will be creating many employment opportunities for local people and sub-contractors in the area and will also be contributing a total of £425,000 to local services; £99,000 to education and school places, £70,000 towards community facilities, £70,000 towards coastal mitigation, such as wardens, new footpaths and signage, and £99,000 towards local health services in Northumberland, all helping to build communities and opportunities for the local area..

As well as the exciting new homes being released at Grangemoor Park, two of Gleeson’s existing developments in Northumberland, Wheatriggs Court in Milfield, on the outskirts of Wooler, and School Court in Pegswood, close to Morpeth, saw their new sales centres and show homes open early January.

Wheatriggs Court a stunning development of 30 homes, where prices start from £105,995, unveiled two and three bedroom show homes where customers can see for themselves the benefits of owning a Gleeson home.

School Court a larger development of 61 homes, where prices start from £112,995, benefitted from two, three-bedroom show homes to view, and a two-bedroom show home, giving customers interior inspiration and immersing them in what could be their own home.

Once Covid restrictions are lifted, Gleeson will host launch events to further showcase the new show homes and sales centres.

Ed Alder, Operations Director at Gleeson said:

“We are delighted to be bringing these much-needed new homes to Northumberland, an area where we have seen great success providing our traditionally built, affordable homes. At the heart of the community, our new homes at Grangemoor Park will serve local people, including young, first time buyers and low to mid income families, giving young people the opportunity to make their first steps onto the property ladder.

“Additionally, with the introduction of our new modern show homes and sales centres at Wheatriggs Court and School Court, where customers can meet our friendly sales executives in a Covid compliant setting will ensure that young people can see the quality, affordable homes we build and discuss how Gleeson can help them achieve homeownership.”
