Gleeson strengthens South and West Yorkshire leadership team
Gleeson Homes South and West Yorkshire has further strengthened its senior team, with two new senior hires and one new appointment, as the region continues to expand its operational capability in line with its ambitious growth plans.
This announcement follows the region’s recent move to a newly refurbished 4,327 sq. ft office, located just 10 minutes outside of Leeds City Centre, providing a modern and collaborative workspace to support its continued expansion.
The appointments operate across the business unit, working in technical delivery and in the commercial and finance departments.
Gleeson has appointed Kenny Mawson as Technical Director for its South and West Yorkshire region. Bringing over 35 years of experience in the construction and housebuilding industry, Kenny has held senior leadership roles with several of the UK’s largest PLCs and SME developers.
Throughout his career, he has been involved in national working groups on BIM, sustainability and utilities, while also supporting developers regionally through HBF forums. With more than five years’ experience as a Technical Director, Kenny has a proven track record of delivering high‑quality, design‑led residential schemes of all sizes and tenures across Yorkshire and the Midlands.
He has also collaborated closely with HBF Technical Directors, serving as Vice/Chair of the Yorkshire Technical Group and as a member of both the Codes for Adoption Steering Group and the Future Homes Hub.
In his new role at Gleeson, Kenny will oversee all aspects of technical design and delivery within the region, working closely with the Land team to support regional acquisition strategy while ensuring the business continues to meet evolving regulatory and sustainability requirements.

David Hodgkinson also joins the South and West Yorkshire region as Commercial Director, bringing over 25 years of industry experience. David joins from North Country Homes, where he served as Managing Quantity Surveyor, and previously held senior roles at major national housebuilders, including Commercial Director at Barratt Homes and a commercial leadership role at Persimmon Homes.
As Commercial Director, David will be responsible for embedding best practice across the region’s commercial functions, maximising value, improving operational efficiencies and developing strong commercial relationships with suppliers and subcontractors across every stage of the development lifecycle.

Finally, Gleeson is pleased to announce the promotion of Richard Love to the newly created role of Head of Finance for the region. Richard previously served as Finance Business Partner within South and West Yorkshire for over three years.
The creation of this role is part of MJ Gleeson’s Project Transform programme, which has focused on empowering regional teams and strengthening local ownership. In his new position, Richard will assume full accountability for the regional P&L and will line-manage and develop the region’s newly appointed Finance Manager, Oliver Hume.
