Gleeson offers donation to Langley Park & Bearpark Cricket Club
Gleeson Homes has strengthened its commitment to the Durham community with a donation of 30 temporary fencing panels to Langley Park & Bearpark Cricket Club. The fencing helped protect the club’s cricket square throughout the winter months, safeguarding the hard work undertaken during end‑of‑season preparations.
The donation included 30 panels complete with feet and clips, which were delivered and installed along the perimeter of the square. The new safety barrier provided vital protection, ensuring the pitch remained secure and in good condition ahead of the 2026 season.
Located just a short distance from Gleeson’s nearby development, The Woodlands in Bearpark, the cricket club plays an important role in the local community. The development will deliver 148 much‑needed new homes to the area, offering a range of 2, 3 and 4‑bedroom properties, as well as 2‑bedroom bungalows for first‑time buyers, downsizers, second steppers and growing families.
Langley Park & Bearpark Cricket Club, home to three senior sides and four junior teams, Under 9s, Under 11s, Under 13s and Under 15s, is run entirely by dedicated volunteers. With cricket continuing to grow locally, the club remains open to new players, including families and those looking for a friendly, community‑focused club for their children.
This donation reflected Gleeson’s ongoing commitment to supporting grassroots sport and investing in the communities surrounding its developments. The initiative aligned with the company’s six‑point Community Pledge, which focuses on delivering community grants, creating opportunities for young people, supporting local charities, and contributing to environmental and social projects that benefit both current and future residents.
“At Gleeson, we were proud to support the communities around our developments, and we were delighted to have been able to help Langley Park & Bearpark Cricket Club in a small but meaningful way. Clubs like this are at the heart of local life, bringing people together across generations. We hope our contribution helps create a safer, more welcoming environment for players and supporters throughout the off season, and we look forward to continuing this partnership.”
“A huge thank you again to the team at Gleeson Homes for their support. It was fantastic to see them investing in local community sport, and with their new development, The Woodlands, just around the corner from our ground, it has been great to have them as neighbours too. We are always happy to welcome new players, especially families who have recently moved into the area and are looking for a friendly club where children can get involved in cricket or try a new sport.”
