Gleeson Homes welcomes the Mayor of Boston to Harriers Croft, Sutterton

The Midlands team at Gleeson Homes has recently welcomed the Mayor of Boston to its Harriers Croft development in Sutterton, Boston.

The Mayor of Boston, Councillor Anne Dorrian, was delighted to lay a ceremonial brick on the foundations of the first plot to be built and enjoyed a tour of the development and refreshments. The Mayor discussed with Allen Marshall, Regional Managing Director, plans for further developments in the area, and how Gleeson are helping local people out of the rent trap.

The team at Gleeson Homes were especially impressed with the Mayor’s bricklaying skills when she laid the first brick on Plot One of the Harriers Croft development, and the team was pleased to hear the Mayor’s positive feedback about the development

Anne Dorrian, Mayor of Boston, said: “It was an absolute pleasure to visit the new Gleeson Homes site at Sutterton and I was struck by how friendly and welcoming the whole team were. I was also impressed to hear how Gleeson Homes takes great care to ensure that its starter home, a two bed semi-detached property, is affordable for a couple who earn the national living wage; and how it works with a reputable mortgage company who can help customers work through the financial process of buying a home. This whole approach is extremely important for our community - especially given the very high rental costs in the area coupled with the lack of social housing – and it means that many more young people can get on the housing ladder when they may not have thought it possible.

“I was also delighted to be invited back to see the show homes once they are completed and I am excited to see the site come to fruition!”

Allen Marshall, Regional Managing Director for Gleeson Midlands said: “We were delighted to welcome the Mayor of Boston, Councillor Anne Dorrian, to our Harriers Croft development. We discussed the work that we are doing to provide homes for first-time buyers and young families; a key proportion being key workers. We were pleased to introduce the Mayor to our on-site team and to show her our range of homes under construction.

“We pride ourselves on supporting the local community with our affordable homes and employing a workforce on site that will be made up of local labour and contractors. With our homes, we are determined to ensure that the housing market better serves young first-time buyers and families on low to average incomes”.

Harriers Croft is set to launch its show homes early 2023 which will help give customers inspiration and show them what life could be like in their own Gleeson home. The show homes are set to be a mix of Gleeson’s most popular house styles including a 2 bedroom semi-detached Cork, 3 bedroom detached Brandon, 3 bedroom semi-detached Tyrone and a 4 bedroom detached Longford.
