Just over a mile away is the Astrea Academy, which provides secondary education, and Barnsley College is nine miles from the development, which is accessible via a regular bus service. The college provides A-Levels, vocational courses, apprenticeships, and higher education courses.

Amenities

The Homesteads is situated in a bustling village, served by an array of amenities. Less than a mile from the development, there is a wide range of local shops and boutiques, including an Asda supermarket. The village also boasts a range of pubs and takeaways, as well as a library and a post office. Goldthorpe Medical Centre is just a 20-minute walk or a short car journey from the development. The village also has two dental practices - Highgate Dental and Dearne Valley Dental.

Leisure

Barnsley town centre is less than nine miles away, where you will discover a whole host of shops, cafés, bars, and restaurants. The new Glassworks complex, which boasts a Cineworld and Superbowl, and the Metrodome Leisure Complex are also located in Barnsley.
