At just 27 years old, Anish took an exciting step onto the property ladder as a solo homeowner. He moved into his new home at Lawrence Grange in December 2025, marking the start of a new chapter filled with independence and stability.

“I’m a first-time buyer, and a solo homeowner, so taking my first step onto the property ladder was a big decision, but it also made the process feel really empowering.”

Anish chose a 2-bedroom Cork, a home he felt was perfectly matched to his lifestyle. “I chose the Cork because it genuinely felt like the perfect fit for someone living on their own. I didn’t want a huge house that would feel overwhelming, but I also didn’t want to feel cramped. The Cork strikes that balance beautifully.”

The home’s affordability was a major factor, with a purchase price of £185,000 and monthly mortgage repayments of £483.90. As a solo buyer, the financial comfort and practicality stood out. When researching new build homes, Anish found that Gleeson offered strong value for money, making homeownership feel genuinely achievable.

He was also impressed by the specification included as standard. “Features like modern kitchens, energy-efficient appliances, stylish bathrooms, and even turf to the front and rear garden being included as standard really made the home feel complete right from the start.”

Although being a solo homeowner can feel overwhelming, Anish says he felt supported from the moment he began his journey. “From the moment I first heard about Gleeson, the whole journey felt smooth and reassuring, especially as someone buying on their own for the first time.”

“I remember looking at the Cork house style on the website and feeling instantly drawn to it, but it wasn’t until I visited a show home that everything really clicked.”

“The team were welcoming, patient, and never pushy, which immediately put me at ease. Every question I had, big or small, was answered clearly, and that made the whole experience feel a lot less intimidating.”

The build-up to receiving his keys was one of the most memorable parts of the journey. “The most exciting part was watching things progress and knowing the home I’d chosen was slowly becoming real. And then, finally getting the call to say my keys were ready, it was such a surreal moment.”

“Moving into my Gleeson home has honestly changed my life in the best way. Having a place that’s completely mine has brought a sense of independence, pride, and stability that I’d never really felt before.”

Anish has also enjoyed the freedom to shape the home exactly as he wants. “From decorating the rooms to creating my own routines, the house is the right size for my lifestyle. It’s easy to manage but still big enough to feel like a proper home, not just a stepping stone.”

Anish has also settled well into the community at Lawrence Grange. “Even though I was one of the first on the development, the neighbourhood has felt welcoming and comfortable from the start. It’s peaceful enough that I can unwind after a long day, but still close to everything I need. Even small interactions, like saying hello when passing someone on the street, make the area feel warm and supportive.”

Sustainability features on the development were an added bonus. He’s even planning a wildlife-friendly corner in his garden. “Sustainability and supporting local wildlife were definitely things I cared about when buying my new home. It felt really meaningful knowing the development encourages small actions that can help the environment. I haven’t used the bug hotel that Gleeson provided upon completion yet because I’m still settling in and figuring out the best spot, but I’m looking forward to putting it out soon. It feels like one of those little things that will make the garden come to life.”

If you’re a first-time buyer looking to get onto the property ladder, Anish encourages asking questions and taking the time to understand the process. “My biggest piece of advice would be to trust the process, but also ask every question you can think of. As a first-time buyer, the more I asked, the more confident I felt. I would also advise you to walk around the

neighbourhood and picture what life would be like there, it really helped make the decision feel real and exciting.”

“Buying a home can feel overwhelming at times, but those little milestones, reserving the home, picking finishes, getting updates, receiving the keys, are all part of a really special journey.”

And when asked whether he’d buy another Gleeson home in the future, Anish didn’t hesitate. “Yes, I absolutely would. The whole experience has been positive, and I’ve settled in so well that I’d feel confident choosing Gleeson again.”
