Gleeson Homes appoints Group Construction Director

MJ Gleeson, the UK’s leading affordable homes housebuilder and land promoter, is delighted to announce the appointment of Darren Howell as its Group Construction Director for its Homes division.

In this role, Darren will be working closely with key regional stakeholders to provide effective strategic and functional support to drive delivery, efficiency and a high standard of build quality across its developments. Darren will be charged with optimising the construction of Gleeson’s houses to achieve consistent high standards in build quality, safety, presentation, contractor engagement and customer service.

Darren has worked in the construction industry for over 40 years and has extensive experience in supporting housebuilders to enhance their construction and build quality credentials. As Construction Director for Taylor Wimpey Northwest, one of the largest homebuilders in the UK, Darren was responsible for managing the construction team to deliver homes on time, safely and to a high standard of quality. Prior to this, Darren played an integral role in the early stages of the establishment of luxury homes housebuilder Duchy Homes, helping to create processes and standards of build quality and presentation. He also provided support and guidance to regional teams to ensure that standards were maintained and improved as the Group expanded.
