Gleeson strengthens community ties with local club sponsorship
Gleeson Homes, the leading affordable, high‑quality housebuilder, has donated £250 to grassroots football club Spennymoor Town Youth FC, based in Spennymoor.
The donation is part of Gleeson’s ongoing community engagement strategy, through which it builds strong local relationships with schools, grassroots sports teams and community projects to create lasting positive impact in the areas where it builds.
Just under two miles from Gleeson’s popular Middlestone Meadows development, where 309 much‑needed new homes are being delivered and more than 80% are already sold, the club has put the donation towards new kits for its Under 15s Castles team, proudly sponsored by Gleeson Homes.
Spennymoor Town Youth FC is an England Football Accredited Club committed to providing safe, inclusive and enjoyable football for young people across Spennymoor and the surrounding area.
The club supports boys’ and girls’ teams across multiple age groups and is run by a dedicated team of FA-qualified volunteer coaches and safeguarding leads. As a Community Interest Company, the club focuses on long-term sustainability, player development and ensuring football remains accessible to families within the local community.
Gleeson is committed to making a positive, lasting impact in the communities where it builds. This promise is formalised in its six‑point Community Pledge, which includes supporting local causes through community grants, collaborating with schools, backing charitable initiatives, and driving forward sustainability projects.
“We are delighted to support Spennymoor Town Youth FC. Grassroots football plays a huge role in bringing communities together and giving young people the chance to thrive. We hope this donation gives the players a real sense of pride in their new kits. We’ll be supporting them throughout the rest of the season and look forward to continuing our connection with the club in the future.”
“We’re really grateful to Gleeson for their support. As a volunteer-led community club, sponsorship like this makes a genuine difference to our players and their families. It’s great to see local businesses backing grassroots football and investing in opportunities for young people in Spennymoor.”
