Gleeson set to deliver 40 Affordable Homes in Withernsea
Gleeson Homes, the leading housebuilder for delivering high-quality homes at great value, is pleased to confirm the exchange of contracts with East Riding Council to deliver 40 affordable homes within its Sands Reach development on Hollym Road, Withernsea. This partnership forms part of Gleeson’s wider scheme of 199 homes, with the remaining 159 homes at Sands Reach being delivered as open market units.
The 40 affordable homes will comprise a mix of two, three, and four-bedroom properties, ensuring provision for a diverse range of residents. This collaboration showcases both organisations’ dedication to delivering high-quality housing and creating sustainable communities for the future.
Positioned near the picturesque East Yorkshire coastline, Sands Reach offers a blend of peaceful coastal living with excellent local amenities nearby. The development is less than a 10-minute walk from Withernsea beach, giving residents easy access to the coast while remaining close to schools, shops, healthcare facilities and leisure options. For those commuting or seeking city attractions, Hull city centre is only a 40-minute drive away.
As part of Gleeson’s vision for placemaking, Sands Reach has been thoughtfully designed to create a welcoming community where people can thrive. Homes will feature modern designs and energy-efficient specifications that enhance performance and sustainability, complemented by green spaces and well-planned streets that encourage a sense of community.
“This partnership is about more than building houses; it’s about creating a place where people can put down roots and enjoy the benefits of coastal living. Working with East Riding Council ensures that these homes will make a real difference to local families.”
“This is a great scheme to improve housing provision in Withernsea, and support residents in need. We look forward to welcoming the first occupants to their new homes, in due course.”
Gleeson expects to begin the phased delivery of these much-needed homes to the council in Spring 2026, with completion anticipated by Summer 2028.
