Gleeson joins Global SDG Flag campaign to mark 10 years of the UN Sustainable Development Goals
From 25th September 2025, Gleeson has joined hundreds of businesses, government departments, civil society organisations, and schools in a global sustainability movement.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the twenty-fifth anniversary of the United Nations Global Compact.
Gleeson will be flying Sustainable Development Goals (‘SDG’) flags at a select number of its developments across its regions to spread awareness of the core aims of the SDGs and mobilise stakeholders for the 2030 agenda. This symbolic act is part of a growing movement that demonstrates commitment to a more sustainable, inclusive, and equitable future. Participating Gleeson developments include Crown Gardens, Hollinwell Heath, Kingston Fields, Phoenix Meadows, Waterloo Sidings, Middlestone Meadows, Safari and St Patrick's Vale.
The SDGs, also known as the Global Goals, reflect a shared objective and ambition across all countries to end poverty and hunger everywhere, to combat inequalities within and among countries, build peaceful and inclusive societies, protect human rights, and promote gender equality for women and girls, and ensure lasting protection of the planet and its natural resources by 2030.
“The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) form part of our sustainability strategy here at Gleeson. As a business, we are committed to six of the SDGs, namely gender equality, decent work and economic growth, sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption and production, climate action and life on land. We are proud to stand #TogetherForTheSDGs. The SDGs are not just global goals; they are local imperatives. Our work aligns with these goals, and we are committed to accelerating progress in the years ahead.”
