Gleeson collaborates with local primary school in Keyingham
Gleeson Homes is delighted to announce its latest community project with Keyingham Primary School. The collaboration offered pupils the exciting opportunity to name several streets at its newest development in the area, Mill View.
In preparation for the development launch, Gleeson proudly collaborated with the local primary school as part of its ongoing community engagement strategy to launch a creative and engaging street-naming competition.
Situated less than a mile away from the school, Gleeson’s Mill View development will feature 147 new homes in total, with a combination of 2-, 3- and 4-bedroom layouts. All homes will feature open-plan living spaces with a high-quality specification as standard – perfect for modern family life.
Among the chosen street names are Clark Dene – a tribute to Norman Clark, founder of the greenhouse business that previously occupied the land, St Nicholas Gate – taking inspiration from the village’s historic 13th-century church, and Haxby Crescent – honouring Rosalie Haxby, former headteacher and respect community member who passed away in 2023.
Summerville Close, Pickle Grove, and Amber Chase were also chosen, each reflecting the creativity and local pride of the pupils involved.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be bringing our Mill View development to Keyingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide high-quality, affordable homes to the area. A big thank you to the pupils at Keyingham Primary School for helping us name the new streets within the development. The creativity and enthusiasm were inspiring, and we’re proud to incorporate their ideas into the very fabric of Mill View. At Gleeson, we believe in building strong relationships and making a positive difference in the communities we serve. Mill View is due to launch later this year and will offer a range of 2, 3, and 4-bedroom homes. Each one is built to the highest standards and represents excellent value for money. We look forward to welcoming visitors and buyers alike when we open our doors later this year."
“On behalf of Keyingham Primary School, I would like to thank Gleeson for the opportunity to work in partnership on the Mill View street naming project. As Operations Manager and Student Council Lead, I was incredibly proud of the way our pupils approached this task with curiosity, maturity and enthusiasm. The children undertook detailed research into local history, worked collaboratively, respected differing views, and engaged fully in a democratic voting process. Their sense of pride and understanding of the lasting impact of their contribution were clear throughout. This project has been a powerful example of meaningful student voice and community engagement, creating a positive and lasting legacy for the village of Keyingham."
