Gleeson announces partnership with conservation organisation Buglife

In September 2023, Gleeson Homes, part of MJ Gleeson plc, announced two further significant developments in its sustainability journey: its commitment to setting science based carbon emission reduction targets, as well as the launch of its Biodiversity strategy.

Through the launch of its Biodiversity strategy, Gleeson made a commitment to partner with a conservation organisation which best aligned to the strategy. Gleeson has confirmed its new partnership with Buglife, the only organisation in Europe devoted to the conservation of all invertebrates, which are one of the essential building blocks for other lifeforms.

Gleeson’s partnership with Buglife will see both organisations working together to create and improve habitat for invertebrates and to align, wherever possible, to both parties' conservation initiatives.

“We are really excited about our partnership with Buglife and playing our part in creating habitat and resources to support invertebrates. The partnership will also be integral in helping us to raise awareness among colleagues and customers on biodiversity issues and how everyone can play their part to help in reversing the huge decline in UK biodiversity.”

Matt Gibb, Group Sustainability Manager at Gleeson Homes

“Buglife are delighted to be partnering up with Gleeson to help support and deliver on their forward-thinking strategy for biodiversity, we look forward to creating homes for pollinators and other bugs with them in the years to come.”

Paul Hetherington, Director of Fundraising and Communications at Buglife

Gleeson has also furthered its commitments by launching a ‘Wildlife in your Garden’ guide. The guide has been designed to encourage all homeowners to enjoy and embrace wildlife in their gardens. It is completely free to access and download and can be found directly on the Gleeson Homes website here.
