National living wage to rise by almost 10% from April 2024
On Tuesday 21st November, the Government announced that the National Living Wage (NLW) will rise by 10%, from £10.42 to £11.44 an hour, from April 2024.
As the largest ever NLW increase, this is a critical step in providing much needed additional capital for lower income workers.
With an increased income, the hope is that this will provide a meaningful boost for the affordable housing sector, with 2.7 million people nationally due to benefit, making home ownership more attainable.
