Gleeson’s Macaulay Park development hosts sustainable homes launch event
Gleeson Homes, the high-quality affordable housebuilder has recently installed air source heat pump technology within the remaining homes at its Macaulay Park development.
Gleeson began rolling this technology out two years ahead of the 2025 Future Homes Standard Government directive coming into effect, starting with sites across the Midlands and more recently, moving into the North of England too.
On Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st April 2024, Gleeson held an exclusive sustainable homes launch event at its Macaulay Park development in Grimsby. The event commemorated the opening of the East Yorkshire region’s first homes built with air source heat pump technology installed.
Attended by prospective buyers including first-time buyers, second steppers and families alike, the event provided a fantastic opportunity for Gleeson to showcase its stunning show homes, whilst also demonstrating the benefits of air source heat pump technology to prospective homebuyers.
Air source heat pumps offer a more energy efficient method of heating, using around 65-70% less energy than a modern gas boiler. While heat pumps are a relatively new energy solution for homes across the UK, they have been widely used in countries such as Sweden, Japan, and France for several decades now, demonstrating they are a tried and tested technology.
Latest Watt a Save data, released by the House Builders Federation in January 2024, reported that owners of new build homes fitted with air source heat pump technology will most likely see savings of up to £2,600 a year on their energy bills.
“Installing air source heat pump technology across our developments aligns with our overarching mission and commitment to delivering high-quality, affordable and energy efficient homes. Our sustainable homes launch event at Macaulay Park provided a fantastic opportunity to engage with the local community and prospective buyers to demonstrate what an air source heat pump is and the efficiencies this type of technology brings to new build homes, particularly regarding energy consumption and helping to keep energy bills as low as possible for customers.”
