Gleeson sponsors six Women into Homebuilding programme placements
Gleeson Homes is proud to be sponsoring six upcoming placements through the Women into Homebuilding programme.
The prgoramme is being ran in association with the Home Builders Federation and is due to commence in October 2024. It has been designed to help address some of the barriers to women entering the industry and increase awareness of site management careers to a new talent pool. Lasting for approximately three weeks, the programme offers practical experience to local women across England, Wales and Scotland.
Currently, women represent just 16% of the construction industry, which Gleeson and the HBF are committed to improving through the Women into Homebuilding and other programmes.
Having already engaged with over 200 women, the scheme provides insight into careers in housebuilding, with 65 candidates having completed training and work experience through the programme and 20 have secured permanent employment.
