From renting to solo homeownership and now buying her second Gleeson home with her partner… it’s been a Gleeson journey!

Sarah’s journey started back in October 2019 as a solo homeowner when she moved out of her rented 1-bedroom flat and into a 2-bedroom semi-detached Kerry at Canal Walk, which featured a gorgeous west-facing garden, and was the perfect first home.
After looking at a number of competitors in her area, the layout of her Kerry and the location of the development won her over as it was close to the motorway which made her commute to Manchester for work easy. Fast forward to May 2021, Sarah and her partner Michael decided they had outgrown her Kerry and wanted to buy their first home together, and had their eyes on a plot down the road.
After such a great experience with her first home, and still loving the location and the sense of community at Canal Walk, they decided to purchase a second Gleeson home, a 4-bedroom detached Waterford in October 2022. The couple used the key worker scheme which allowed them to spend more on their optional extras range, purchasing an upgraded kitchen as well as an upgraded bathroom, plus much more!
After welcoming their first child together, Sarah and Michael are excited to start making their new house into a home.
We spoke to Sarah about her homebuying journey with her partner Michael!
"After outgrowing my first home, Michael and I were thrilled when my Kerry sold within the first week of putting it on the market! We secured our dream plot on Canal Walk, a 4-bedroom detached Waterford which features a huge rear garden and is positioned at the end of a cul-de-sac! We would walk around Canal Walk and see our plot almost every day whilst we were still living in my Kerry, we loved watching it being built and was over the moon to reserve it (exactly a year to the day from when we first saw it!) We also found out that we exchanged contracts whilst on holiday in Thailand which is something we will never forget!"
"Since living in a Gleeson home I have noticed that my energy bills are significantly lower than what my friends are paying, thanks to how energy efficient our home is! We did experience several snags when we moved into our second home, but we cannot fault the Site Team and Sales Executives enough, they have been fantastic and fixed everything so quickly. We have loved decorating our home, ready for the new arrival of our gorgeous little boy and we are excited to start our next project which will be the garden in the summer!”
