“After making the decision to move from Brighton to Cumbria, we started looking at a number of new build developments in the area. We have always wanted a new build and are so happy to have found our dream home after a year of searching – we absolutely love it! From a wardrobe in the master bedroom to carpets and vinyl throughout, along with turf and a gate in the rear garden – our house quickly transformed into a warm and welcoming home."

“We got married in 1977 and soon after, moved from Brighton to Lancashire as the area, jobs and houses were really appealing. In 1984, during the recession, we moved back to Brighton for work but we always said that we would return. We didn’t feel forced to move to Lancashire again as we didn’t have any emotional ties, so we started to investigate Cumbria and absolutely loved it! It didn’t take long for us to realise this was where we wanted our forever home to be. Whilst we don’t have any immediate friends or family nearby, those who have come to stay with us can see why we love it so much and are definitely pondering the idea of buying a Gleeson home themselves."

“For anyone contemplating downsizing and choosing Gleeson as their builder, we would recommend carefully assessing the size of each room. Initially, we had reservations about the sitting room's size in the Blessington, however, after measuring the space we were pleasantly surprised to find it could comfortably accommodate two large settees, a chair, and a generously sized ottoman footstool. We would also say, always look at the different plots available on your development. The first one we looked at wasn’t positioned where we would have liked, but then we saw the one we bought and instantly fell in love! If you are soon to retire and looking to downsize, we would absolutely advise anyone to go for it, we are more relaxed and have found a new lease of life thanks to Gleeson!”
