Local nursery schools include Kids 1st Day Nursery which has been rated outstanding by Ofsted and Rascals Child Care which is just over two miles away and has been given a rating of good by Ofsted.  Primary schools close to Charlton Chase include Bothal Primary School Lower and Bothal Primary School Upper, both are within walking distance of the development and, both have achieved a good rating from Ofsted.  There are three secondary schools within four miles of the development; Ashington Academy which is less than a mile away, Northumberland Church of England Secondary School which is a mile and a half away and St. Benet Biscop Catholic Academy which is under four miles away.


The nearest hospital to Charlton Chase is Wansbeck General Hospital which is just over a mile away with Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital (A&E) roughly seven miles away. Laburnum Primary Care Centre is a 15 minute walk away and Linden Cottage Dental Practice is also within walking distance of the development.

A range of shops are available within walking distance of the development, including an Asda Supermarket with a pharmacy, Aldi and Lidl. Popular high street shops are less than a mile away in Ashington Town Centre as well as market every Tuesday.
